Happy Easter! That’s about as far as I’m going to go trying to make this post relevant to the holiday. “Quand On Arrive En Ville” by french producer Fhin is a lovely cover of a Starmania (a probably unknown to anglophone audiences French/Québécois rock opera) song co-written by none other than legendary yé-yé chanteuse France Gall. It’s smooth and nocturnal, with a deviant undercurrent that matches the themes of the lyrics. Though I’ll have to take issue with this one:

Nous tout c’qu’on veut c’est être heureux
Etre heureux avant être vieux
On n’a pas l’temps d’attendre d’avoir trente ans

All we want is to be happy
To be happy before being old
We do not have time to wait until we are thirty

IF I MAY INTERJECT: being 30 is pretty fun. But I guess I’ll have to take that up with some fictional rock opera characters from the mid 1970s. Ah, well. C’est la vie. Enjoy the gorgeous aesthetic of the music video while you’re at it.
